Product specification

XXL-sized modular moss pole with a large 8 cm (3.1") diameter, the starter kit is comprised of a single 26 cm (10") section of moss pole, and a 17.5 cm (7") base, either in the anchor or stake design.

With a unique screw joint method (easy to put together), and xxtra wide diameter, this sturdy moss pole can be extended far beyond the reach of our smaller lines.

The starter kit includes:

  • 1 x 17.5 cm anchor base OR stake
  • 1 x 26 cm pole extension

We have designed this modular moss pole with a sturdy pot base that will keep your pole upright, while adapting to the diameter of your pot: this provides the most stability. If you don't intend on repotting your plant while you add the moss pole, choose our stake instead, which can just be pushed into the soil.

This XXL moss pole kit is very sturdy, and suitable for heavy climbing plants, such as Monstera Deliciosa, and Philodendron Maximum. For younger or smaller plants, check out our popular XL-sized kit, and for medium to large climbers consider D-Shaped Kits if you need a heavy-duty moss pole but prefer a trellis face design.

We're happy to help if you're unsure - send us a pic of your plant and we can help you choose!

Material

All parts are made of PLA+. PLA is a 100% bio-sourced plastic: it’s made of renewable resources such as corn or sugar cane. PLA is also biodegradable and it can be composted.

Sizing

XXL-sized modular moss pole with a large 8 cm (3.1") diameter, the starter kit is comprised of a single 26 cm (10") section of moss pole, and a 17.5 cm (7") base, meant to be buried for maximum stability (anchor variant): we also offer a stake base option for faster pot-ups. We offer moss pole kits with lengths up to 156 cm (60"), and you can increase the length further by adding extensions

Assembly

We will also provide instructions on how to put your moss pole together using sphagnum moss, but honestly, it is so straightforward and easy that you probably won't need it. They will still be there, if you need them.

Moist moss poles are extremely top-heavy, so our recommendation is that you use an additional brace if your plant is very heavy, or if you extend your moss pole past 104 cm (4 units). You don't want your precious plant keeling over! Our brackets are an excellent option as well, as they can be attached to a nearby wall with nothing more than double sided tape!

Add-ons & extensions

Keep growing your pole with your plant by purchasing moss pole extension kits. Additional modules can be attached without the use of any tools, with screw-in joints. In the same fashion, the poles may be disassembled for cleaning and reuse if your plant doesn't take to its home.

As an aside, each extension of 26 cm holds about 1.5 litres of hydrated moss.

Get the incredibly practical Slow-Drip watering cap that drops into the top of your moss pole to make keeping the moss moist a breeze!

Filling your moss pole

Better by far than a coco coir pole, our moss poles are best filled with sphagnum moss, which will hold much more moisture: this will benefit the plant and increase the humidity in it's environment to a greater degree.

You can also play around with making a mix of moss with aerating element such as coco fibre and large perlite.

Small print

Everything we make is printed to order and lovingly squeezed out by our 3D printers at our little workshop, so there may be slight variations and minor visual defects to your products. This is just a standard feature of the production method.

Amazing
Format: Hardcover
"You know a poem's good if it makes people feels things" And this novel-in-verse is beyond good. Each word is perfectly chosen to bring you naturally into Selah's world, and her voice is crystal-clear. This was an emotional read for me, and there were so many points that I felt my eyes welling up, sometimes in sympathy and sometimes with joy at her journey. Her friends, teachers, classmates, and family were fully formed as well. I feel like I know and understand them all so well. I want to go chill in Pop's basement. I want to give Selah's Mom a hug and tell her she's doing great. I'd love to be on a team with Mrs. V, and I absolutely adored Selah's close friend Noelle with her smeagoling and dogged determination to stand by her friend. They are people I would have loved to hang out with them. Loved, loved, loved the dragon metaphors. They made Selah's feelings, wants, and desire so clear and relatable. I have a slight obsession with the dragons of Birk, so of course, I gave a little cheer everytime they were mentioned. The FantasyCon scene was lovely, and I loved how it was a turning point on Selah's journey towards finding herself. I always love when the dear nerdly community pulls through. Anyway, I'll probably be throwing this book at everyone's head for a while. It's beautiful, profound, a little cathartic, and important. But also, it's a really enjoyable read! Like, Selah's just a really cool girl. Everything about it was just right, and I feel better for having read it.

Eye Opening!! A great perspective of what is happening in some neurodivergent brain,
Format: Audiobook
What a fantastic book! It gives insight into how neurodivergent people experience the world. I have always heard the phrase "All behavior is communication." I recently listened to an add-on to that phrase: "Distressed behavior communicates a person's distress." I couldn't help but think about this phrase as I read this story. The fatigue of masking is a significant challenge; pretending to be someone you are not is a constant struggle. As a neurodivergent teacher who teaches neurodivergent kids, this story touched my heart, and I highly recommend it to anyone who will listen.

Great book!
Format: Hardcover
I loved the book. It’s a quick read as the novel is written beautifully through poetry. The main character is easy to love and root for. As a teacher who is always advocating for neurodivergent kids, I am often helping parents see the strengths and needs for their child. I love that a book exists where kids can go “That’s me!” and learn to love who they were created to be and find tools that help make the world easier to cope with. The author even gives suggestions and resources in the back of the book. This novel is timely as we are starting to have a greater understanding of the spectrum of Autism. Grandparents and parents are beginning to understand themselves through the diagnosis of their kids/grandkids or even nieces/nephews. Knowing yourself is a powerful thing as Selah (the main character) teaches us.

the BEST BOOK EVER to learn what autism feels like
Format: Hardcover
I have read just about every book ever written (in English) related to autism -- well over 700 of them. This is the best book that communicates what autism feels like, and our life experiences. I'm decades older than the audience the book is intended for; but EVERYONE should read this book to understand we who are different. It also points out several well-known facts: autism has some heredity trails, having just one trusted adult who treats the different child like they are valuable is key to that child being able to cope with the world around them. What surprised me was when an educator with over 25 years of experience in special ed, just did not think the book was that good. That convinced me of the book's unique value: it truly puts the reader in the body and mind of the different child. Some educators cannot do that. The story focuses upon a female -- so not sure how applicable it is to a male different child. I hope some others would test that out. The BEST BOOK EVER to understand what autism feels like. I know as I have been on the autism spectrum since before there was an autism spectrum.
